Maskfly
Maskflies are enemies in Hollow Knight. They are docile flying creatures who travel in flocks, fleeing from anything they perceive as a threat.[1][2]
 They all keep lookout for danger and when one flies away the rest do as well. I wonder how it feels to have the protection of a pack?  |
Behaviour and Tactics
Sit in a flock until disturbed, when they take off and quickly fly away, even before the Knight gets into Nail range. They also fly away if any other enemy gets too close.
To kill them, dash forward to get to them faster or stay out of range and use the Vengeful Spirit/Shade Soul Spell. It is also possible to kill them easily using the Crystal Heart, as they do not deal contact damage.

Maskflies can be found in groups in Greenpath and the Queen's Gardens.

Trivia
- The Maskfly is one of the few enemies that respawns upon leaving and re-entering the room.
- Maskflies cannot be read by the Dream Nail.
