Shade Gate
A Shade Gate is a gate made from Void found in various places throughout Hallownest. They are indestructible and cannot be deactivated. If the Knight moves into it, it bounces them backwards but does not deal damage. Spells pass through Shade Gates.
To move through it, the Shade Cloak must have been acquired and the Gate needs to be Shadow Dashed through. This means that a Shade Gate cannot be passed until after the Abyss can be accessed.
Most Shade Gates are formed in between two spiked contraptions with black orbs that the pulsing Void connects. There are, however, two Shade Gates found in the Birthplace section of the Abyss that do not feature these ornaments.

Trivia
- If the Knight is holding a map while trying to walk through a Shade Gate, they do not bounce backwards.
- Enemies can pass through Shade Gates.
- Due to a bug, the Knight can pass through a Shade Gate with a normal dash if they have the Shade Cloak (even on cooldown) if the dash ends while nearly touching the Gate.
