Volatile Gruzzer
Volatile Gruzzers are enemies in Hollow Knight. They are enlarged Gruzzers who still float around carelessly, their bodies swollen and dripping with Infection.[1][2]
 Horrible goo and noxious gas has started leaking down from above. Is there a source of all this pestilence? If so, I haven't seen it.  |
Behaviour and Tactics
Similarly to regular Gruzzers, they bounce around aimlessly in their territory, but they also drip globs of harmful Infection beneath them as they move. Avoid the drops by dashing and using platforms as cover.
Once defeated their corpses shake violently and then explode. While its regular attack deals one Mask of damage, the explosion deals two.

Location
Most of the Gruzzers become Volatile Gruzzers after the Infection consumes the Forgotten Crossroads, therefore their locations are similar. They can be found in the northwest of the Infected Crossroads. Volatile Gruzzers also appear in the Colosseum of Fools, in the Trial of the Warrior during the 11th wave, and in the Trial of the Conqueror during the 5th wave.
