A Vassal Lost is a Unique Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong, given by Steel Seer Zi. Zi asks Hornet to track down her missing vassal and retrieve them, alive or dead.

Starting Location

The Wish can be accepted from Steel Seer Zi in the Blasted Steps, who only appears while in Steel Soul Mode .

Resting Sites

To locate the vassal, Steel Seer Zi marks 3 of their "places of rest" for Hornet to visit. The first is picked randomly from the Shellwood, Moss Grotto, and Far Fields locations, which are accessible from Act 1; the second is picked randomly from the Putrified Ducts, High Halls, and Sands of Karak locations, which are only accessible from Act 2; and the third is picked randomly from all six available locations.

Dialogue

Resting Spots First Location This location was marked by the steel child. This camp is old, but still shows clear evidence of an attempt at a rite. Whatever the vassal hoped to achieve here seems to have failed. The other marked locations may provide more clues to its intent. Second Location The second spot marked by the child of steel. This camp too was used by their vassal, and another rite was conducted here, this one incomplete. The action was clearly taken in haste. Did they believe themself pursued? The etchings here are crude, but the words are disturbing... and desperate. Final Location I understand now... The steel child's servant grew bold... I know what the fleeing bug seeks to call, and their etchings here suggest clear clues to where. What they attempt is dangerous, stupid. It can only end badly. I must hurry if I'm to stop this.

Summoned Saviour Fight

After visiting all three resting sites, Sula's location is marked on the map.

Once Hornet reaches this location, Sula is just finishing their summoning of the Summoned Saviour as Hornet tries to yell out to stop them. After this, Hornet must defeat Summoned Saviour.

Reward

After defeating Summoned Saviour, Sula despairs at the death of their "champion". Sula expects Hornet to lead them back by needle point to Steel Seer Zi. However, Hornet lets Sula run away. Upon reporting this back to Zi, Zi says that Sula's summoning of the void has marked them to the Masters regardless. Zi then gives Hornet the Growstone.
