Endings (Silksong)
The following is a list of all endings that can be achieved in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
After any ending apart from Ending 2, loading the save profile brings Hornet to the last Bench in the Cradle, or in Ending 4's case, to the last Bench in the Abyss, while recording the defeated bosses in the Hunter's Journal. Other than that, the save profile is in the state that it was before the final bosses were defeated. This means that the final boss is alive again.
After Ending 2, loading the save profile brings Hornet to Act 3 and the game continues. The final boss is not alive again, and it is no longer possible to achieve the first three endings from that save profile.
Ending 1: Weaver Queen
Requirements
- Not having achieved the Snared Silk ending
- Defeating Grand Mother Silk and Binding her
After defeating Grand Mother Silk, Hornet binds her power, taking her place and becoming a Weaver Queen. The appearance of her Mask icons changes to Weaver icons, and her Silk Spool's maximum capacity massively increases. Threads are shown coming down from the Cradle to the Citadel, and the structure winds up completely covered in Silk. Hornet is curled up in the centre of the Silk, and the scene ends with her growing six extra arms.
Also unlocks the Cradle menu style.

Ending 2: Snared Silk
Requirements
- Completing Silk and Soul
- Defeating Grand Mother Silk and using the Needolin
After completing the Silk and Soul wish, Hornet can play her Needolin at the end of the fight with Grand Mother Silk to activate the Soul Snare. The trap binds Grand Mother Silk to the Void, opening a portal to the Abyss to allow Void Tendrils to pull her in.[1] However, Grand Mother Silk holds Hornet tight, threatening to pull her into the Void with her. Lace intervenes, cutting her mother's arm off and stabbing her with her pin to free Hornet. This leads to her getting dragged into the Void along with Grand Mother Silk. Hornet falls off the platform and the portal to the Abyss closes, knocking Hornet further down. Void-soaked threads are then shown bursting from the ground outside the Citadel.
Also unlocks the Abyss menu style.

Ending 3: Twisted Child
Requirements
- Not having achieved the Snared Silk ending
- Having completed Rite of Rebirth to obtain and become locked into the Cursed Crest.
- Not having completed Infestation Operation to upgrade the Cursed Crest into the Witch Crest.
- Defeating Grand Mother Silk
If Hornet has the Cursed Crest and defeats Grand Mother Silk, vines burst out of her shell and ensnare the higher being. Hornet, Grand Mother Silk, and the Cradle are transformed into Roots sprouting from her Cursed Crest. As the screen darkens, a crack appears in an orb beneath the two (possibly the lower part of Grand Mother Silk's body), and a scream is heard after the screen fades completely black.
Also unlocks the Greyroot menu style.

Ending 4: Sister of the Void
Requirements
- Defeating Lost Lace
Upon Lost Lace's defeat, the Void's hold on her is loosened. Hornet picks up Lace and asks Grand Mother Silk to give her Silk, who obliges and provides her with a large amount. Hornet then uses Silk Soar to escape the cocoon with Lace, leaving the Mother behind. While they are unable to go up far enough before the Everbloom's power gives out and the black tendrils attack, Hornet encounters the Knight and their Siblings in the Void, as the Knight protects Hornet and Lace from being taken by the Void's black tendrils. They carry the two safely up to the surface, and with Grand Mother Silk dead, her void-soaked threads disappear. Lace wakes up from unconsciousness and shares a quiet moment with Hornet.
This ending unlocks the Surface menu style, and places Lace's pin alongside Hornet's Needle in the main menu pedestal, regardless of menu style.

Extra Ending: Passing of the Age
Requirements
- Completing Passing of the Age
After the Sister of the Void ending, if Mister Mushroom's wish has been completed by listening to him in all areas, a cutscene plays after the main cutscene depicting Mister Mushroom flying off into the sky.
The ending finishes with a screen displaying "To Be Continued".

Trivia
- According to a Team Cherry interview by Bloomberg, the Weaver Queen ending is meant to be ambiguous as to whether it is good or bad.[2]
- A cut ending can be found in the game's files, identified in the script as "Ending B" with the name "Strung to Serve", along with an unused achievement icon. The ending shows a character with characteristics of both Grand Mother Silk and Hornet haunting the citizens of Pharloom, as well as pilgrims outside of Pharloom, with Silk.[3]
- The save profile in the main menu will display a small icon depicting which ending was last achieved:
