Hoker
Whatever admiration I had for its fleecy down is spoilt by its disturbing mask... and its steely spines.
Hokers are enemies in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They are spine-shooting drifters of Pharloom's lowlands who have fleecy down and a mask.[1]
Behaviour and Tactics
Hokers hover idly, even if approached by Hornet. When hit or affected by Needolin, they shoot sharp spines straight out from their body, which continue travelling until they hit Hornet or the environment. After a few moments, additional spines appear facing new directions. When defeated, the Hoker shoots one last volley of spines before dying.
Hokers can only have symmetrical spine configurations, and can have a maximum of 6 spines on their body at once.
Attacking Hokers or playing the Needolin is required for the Flexile Spines Wish - Hornet must collect Spine Cores by striking the Hokers' spines after they have been expelled. Sting Shards are incredibly effective at gathering the Spine Cores, as throwing a Sting Shard at the centre of a Hoker will kill it in one go and cause it to drop all primed spines on death in item form.
