Sprintmaster Swift

Sprintmaster Swift is an NPC in Hollow Knight: Silksong. He is a bug seeking to test his speed against a challenger.[2] He gives the Fastest in Pharloom wish.
Background
Sprintmaster Swift is a bug seeking the fastest bug in Pharloom. In the past, he had his own speed teacher who gave him a memento.[3] He is looking for a nimble opponent to challenge him, testing their speed and breaking through their limits.[2] In Far Fields, he discovered a distant cavern with a giant, boney body of a bug inside it. Sprintmaster Swift set up his race there to await a challenger.[4]
In-Game Events
For more information, see Fastest in Pharloom.
Upon meeting him, Sprintmaster Swift offers the Wish Fastest in Pharloom to Hornet, if she has yet to accept it from the Wishwall in Bellhart. This consists of a race on three tracks, each increasing in difficulty and offering different rewards for winning them.
After Hornet completes the first three challenges, upon obtaining the Everbloom and returning from benching elsewhere, Sprintmaster Swift offers the fourth and final challenge. This takes place on the same track as the third challenge, but is longer, made up of six laps instead of three as before. Beating him on this fourth race rewards Hornet with the Sprintmaster Memento.

Trivia
- It is possible to hit Sprintmaster Swift during the race to slow him down briefly.
- Holding down the SPRINT button at the second bell before the race starts gives Hornet a head start.
- Due to a bug, Sprintmaster Swift's races used to be able to be beaten by not moving until he finishes the race, then completing it. This has since been fixed.
