Nymm is an NPC in Hollow Knight. He gives the Carefree Melody Charm to the Knight.
Lore
Nymm is a bug who arrives in Dirtmouth after the Grimm Troupe is banished. He plays an accordion-like bug to bring cheer to the fading town, although he admits that even his song is a little on the sadder side.[2] Nymm is content to be in Dirtmouth beside the company of the Knight.[3]
He greatly resembles Brumm without his mask. Nymm has no memory of why he travelled to Dirtmouth, or where he came from.[4][1] He is not sure how he obtained Carefree Melody, but when he looks at its design it makes him think of something and somebody that he lost and forgot about.[5]
In-game events
If the Grimm Troupe is banished from Hallownest, Nymm appears in Dirtmouth beside the Bench. If the Ritual is completed by defeating Nightmare King Grimm, Nymm does not appear.
Nymm gives the Knight the Carefree Melody Charm when he is listened to.
