Desolate Dive
Desolate Dive | Descending Dark |
Ah ho! I'm sensing new power about you, one that'll crack the rock beneath us. A useful thing for one looking to travel ever deeper.
My third uncle used to possess similar abilities. He also possessed a ferocious temper! Ohohoho! What a dreadful combination. |
Desolate Dive is a Spell in Hollow Knight. Using it strikes the ground with concentrated SOUL, breaking floors and damaging enemies.
Function
Press FOCUS/CAST or QUICK CAST while holding DOWN to cause the Knight to slam into the ground, creating a shockwave that spreads out and up. The dive deals 15 damage, while the shockwave deals 20.
The Knight is invincible for 0.4 seconds during and after using Desolate Dive. This allows for chaining uses of Desolate Dive to avoid enemy damage as long as the Knight has enough SOUL. Using Desolate Dive in quick succession cancels the invincibility frames of the Spell if it is cast while the previous Spell's invincibility frames have not yet run out.
Desolate Dive also allows breaking certain floors, such as those to exit the Soul Sanctum and to enter Crystal Peak.
Modifiers
- Shaman Stone increases the damage dealt by Desolate Dive by 51%.
- Spell Twister lowers the SOUL cost to cast Desolate Dive to 24 SOUL.
- Can be upgraded to Descending Dark.
