Huntress is an upcoming NPC in Hollow Knight: Silksong teased by Matthew "Leth" Griffin in the Hollow Knight Discord after members were able to solve a riddle.

Little more is known about her except for a description and a gif also provided by the same source.

"Ssssppiiiderr, Your ssstench is strange yet similar... Have you come bearing the organs of others? Or would you offer your own? Gift your sshell's warm insidess as ssweet feast for my brood'sss birth-meal?"

A towering old predator, awaiting her children to come. Though her attention is fixed on her task, she seems to know much about the waning state of Pharloom, scorning the Citadel above and the hapless pilgrims that make their ascent towards it.

• Huntress is the first of a series of NPCs teased using riddles provided by Matthew "Leth" Griffin that lasted throughout June to July of 2020, the others being Grindle, Caravan, and Seth.
• Due to her supposed name and dialogue, she may serve as a sort of counterpart to the role the Hunter played in Hollow Knight.
• The riddle solved to reveal this character required looking at dialogue shown in one of the trailers for Hollow Knight. The riddle and its solution are outlined below:

"wyR xCI xUS wxyz >> CODE" Answer: fe(R) o(CI) o(US) foes. Ferocious Foes trailer. See below for explanation. "wxyz >> FRAGMENT" Answer: foes. See below for explanation. "T.C.H.S.O:12.13.19:SDP.2P.3S.6W >> KEY" Answer: This part of the riddle explains where to find the key. T.C.H.S = Team Cherry Holiday Signoff 12.13.19 = December 13, 2019. SDP = Silksong Development Progress 2P.3S.6W = 2nd paragraph, 3rd sentence, 6th word. The word mentioned here is "Foes". Key = Foes. "KEY=FRAGMENT>CODE" Answer: Since the Key is "Foes", the Fragment "wxyz" means "foes". That means that: w = f, x = o, y = e, z = s. Replacing the letters in "wyR xCI xUS wxyz" gives "feR oCI oUS foes" meaning Ferocious Foes. ""I can't help..." >> SPEAKER" Answer: A line said by Quirrel in the Ferocious Foes trailer at 1:05. Speaker = Quirrel. "SPEAKER >> ENUM 1234456" Answer: Enumerate Quirrel (Speaker). This means to replace the letters in Quirrel's name with the numbers shown.
