Hollow Knight Silksong

The original soundtrack for Hollow Knight was composed and performed by Christopher Larkin, and a few other artists. It is divided into two albums, one for the original game and another compiling the new tracks composed for the four content packs. The tracks in the albums are often composed of several musical suites for gameplay situations. A few others, mainly remixes, were omitted as well.

Hollow Knight (Original Soundtrack)

Beneath the fading town of Dirtmouth sleeps an ancient, forgotten kingdom. Many are drawn beneath the surface, searching for riches, or glory, or answers to old secrets. Descend into Hallownest, traverse the depths, unravel its mysteries and conquer its evils.

The score for Hollow Knight captures the vast underground world of the game. The story begins with soft piano notes echoing the Hollow Knight theme, and as the player explores further, orchestral forces swell to an operatic scale as the fate of the knight unfolds.

  • More classic tracks of Hollow Knight were recorded alongside the "Pale Court" live recording session. They were set to be released for free on Christopher Larkin's Bandcamp following the release of Gods & Nightmares.[1]
  • The theme of the Dreamers was omitted from the first album and added instead on the second despite being a part of the original release.[2]
  • Christopher Larkin also released for free both new tracks of Hidden Dreams on August 3, 2017. This short album was meant as a sneak peek for Gods and Nightmares.[3]
  • Godmaster content The two battle themes of Brothers Oro & Mato are swapped during the Pantheon of Hallownest, unlike any other bosses in Godmaster.
Early promotional cover art
  • Different promotional cover art of the soundtrack was shown when the digital version of the soundtrack was announced in a Kickstarter post.[4] This early art was not used for the final release.
