This page is about a Mod, and is not part of official Hollow Knight or Silksong content.

For the NPC in Hollow Knight, see Tiso.
A traveller seeking brutal combat, last fallen in the Colloseum. Fights with a unique shield.

An arena of planned dangers and senseless spectacle... I don’t understand this Colloseum’s appeal. Do they not grasp the allure of true hunting? Is it the audience’s prescence that drives them so? Or is there a power beyond calling them to fruitless combat?

Tiso is a boss in Pale Court. He uses his specialised shell to fight his opponents.

Behaviour and tactics

Tiso uses his specialised shell and agility to fight. He is defeated by dealing damage to him after his health is depleted to 0, at which point a Brooding Mawlek jumps into the arena. Tiso kills the Brooding Mawlek with his Bombeetles, but one of the beetles gets stuck in his shield, the explosion of which killing him. Tiso uses the following attacks:

  • Shell Throw: Tiso throws his shell horizontally towards the Knight. The shell returns to Tiso shortly after.
    • The Knight can nail-bounce on the shield.
  • Dart Shot: Tiso rapidly fires up to 8 darts at the Knight. The darts can be deflected and deal 10 damage to Tiso if one is deflected towards him. When the darts hit either the floor or the walls of the arena, they remain attached until the Knight either hits them with their nail or with a spell.
    • If the Knight is not in front of Tiso, Tiso may cancel the attack or dash back and fire the remaining darts. He may dash more than once to finish the attack. Tiso may also dash back before using Dart Shot. Tiso can cancel the Dart Shot attack after dashing back.
    • The Knight can nail-bounce on the darts.
  • Spiked Shell: If the Knight is above Tiso, he positions his shell above his head and extends a spike from its centre. If the Knight hits the shield with their nail, Tiso takes no damage.
  • Leap: Tiso jumps into the air with his shield up towards the Knight. Once he lands, he creates two shockwaves that travel across the entire arena.
    • Tiso may extend the duration of and the distance traversed by the Leap to land on the Knight.
  • Bombeetle Rain: Tiso emits a loud shout like he does at the beginning of the fight, signalling the beginning of this attack. Tiso then holds up his Shell while exploding Bombeetles rain down upon the arena.
    • Tiso starts using this attack once his health is reduced below 900*.
  • Sprint: Tiso runs towards the Knight with his shield in front. Hitting Tiso from the front while he is running does not inflict any damage.

Trivia

  • Tiso has health left upon ending the fight. His health is depleted to 0 when the Bombeetle stuck in his shell explodes. His total health, when adding the health from this last “phase”, is 1100/1400 (Attuned / Ascended/Radiant respectively).
  • The Brooding Mawlek that jumps into the arena has 750/1050 health (Attuned / Ascended/Radiant respectively). Its health is depleted to 0 once Tiso himself explodes.
  • Tiso is the only boss that can only be fought in the Hall of Gods (not counting The Eternal Ordeal).
