Hall of Gods
Thou return to this pantheon, though thou hast already ascended to its height?
Be this some strange way of drawing thyself closer to the Gods? Or do thee test thyself for sport? |
The Hall of Gods is an area found at the bottom of Godhome. This area is filled with statues of bosses, which can be activated to fight them.
Defeating a boss on any mode puts a symbol on the statue. Each can be fought infinitely at any difficulty.
Dying in a fight in the Hall of Gods returns the Knight to the statue of the Boss that was fought. This does not count as an actual death.
Unlocking Bosses
Most Bosses that are encountered outside of Godhome need to be defeated first before they can be fought in the Hall of Gods. The exceptions to this are as follows:
- The Hollow Knight and the Radiance do not have statues in the Hall of Gods and cannot be fought there. These are fully replaced with their stronger versions, Pure Vessel and Absolute Radiance.
- If the Grimm Troupe was banished, Nightmare King Grimm is unlocked in the Hall of Gods even though he was never encountered or defeated before.
- Vengefly King is always unlocked in the Hall of Gods even if it was never encountered or fought outside Godhome.
- Besides defeating him, False Knight is also unlocked if he was skipped by breaking the left wall during his battle.
- White Defender automatically unlocks after fighting Dung Defender in the Hall of Gods or the Pantheon of the Master. It does not matter whether this fight is won or lost.
Bosses that are only found within Godhome need to be encountered in their respective Pantheon. They do not need to be defeated in the Pantheons to unlock their statue in the Hall of Gods.
The circle outside of the Hall of Gods to the upper right of the door glows when a new boss has been unlocked. When the statues of the new bosses are viewed, the light turns off.
Fighting Bosses
Bosses, referred to as "gods", can be challenged by interacting with their respective statue in one of three difficulties:
Attuned Fight the boss as it appears in Hallownest. Rewards with a bronze symbol under the statue.
Ascended Fight the boss with extra challenge added in the form of double damage, increased health, and possibly new hazards in the arena. Rewards with a silver symbol under the statue.
Radiant Unlocked after beating Ascended difficulty. Fight with an Ascended difficulty boss that defeats the Knight in one hit (spawned minions and hazards included). Rewards with a bright glowing symbol under the statue. |
Switching between Boss variations
Bosses with multiple variations have a lever connected to the pedestal of the statue that can be activated by hitting it with the Nail. Doing so switches between variations.
Bosses with dream variations have a dreamcatcher symbol attached to the pedestal. Using the Dream Nail on the statue switches the boss between variations. These bosses also have two notches on the pedestal to represent two reward slots.
Bosses
Each Boss, when not encountered yet, includes a small description serving as a clue on how to find the Boss in question. These descriptions can be found when inspecting a small tablet covering where the reward symbol would usually go at the base of the statue.

Trivia
- Each symbol reward is only awarded by completing the respective difficulty, regardless of whether the harder difficulties have been completed or not.
- Prior to v1.4.2.8, the Void Idol statue's description was "Void given mind".
- On Radiant difficulty, Charms relating to taking damage and the Knight's health are rendered useless:
- Stalwart Shell
- Thorns of Agony (without the Baldur Shell being used.)
- Fragile Heart/ Unbreakable Heart
- Quick Focus (except for the use with Shape of Unn, as the Knight and their hitbox shrinks)
- Deep Focus (unless used with Spore Shroom)
- Lifeblood Heart
- Lifeblood Core
- Joni's Blessing
- Grubsong (Unless used with Weaversong)
- Hiveblood
- Fury of the Fallen (the Knight cannot take damage in Godhome and automatically fully heals upon entry)
- On Radiant difficulty, being Overcharmed is beneficial as the Knight dies in one hit regardless.
- Neglecting Zote leaves an empty gap where the statue of Grey Prince Zote would have been.
- Activating the Dreamgate during any of the fights causes the Knight to leave the arena and wake up in front of the respective statue.
- Engaging in any fight in the Hall of Gods automatically sets the Knight's save point to the lower Bench in Godhome.
- The Eternal Ordeal statue has a cut description of:
- "Intruder amongst the gods of Hallownest"
