Glimback
Slow, hardy creature. The crystals that grow on its back provide extra protection from foes above. Large and well-protected, but slow and docile. The bugs of Hallownest used to force these creatures to carry around their carts and machines. |
Glimbacks are enemies in Hollow Knight. They used to be beasts of burden who were forced to carry around carts and machines.[1][2]
Behaviour and Tactics
Slowly meanders back and forth, ignoring the Knight.
Its hardened shell grants protection from all sides but its face and its belly. It is often located in tight corridors, so getting caught between it and a wall should be avoided.
While its face can be attacked, it can also be attacked by slashing the Nail upwards from directly behind it.
Spells pass through its armour and damage its face.

Trivia
- The Glimback is one of the few enemies that respawns after leaving and re-entering the room.
- One of the screenshots featured in the official Hollow Knight Press-Kit depicts a Glimback walking up the right wall of Crystal Guardian's challenge room. However, none of the Glimbacks found in the final release of the game have this ability.
