Husk Sentry
Animated remains of a Hallownest Sentry. Still retains some memory of its former task. More skilled at combat than most bugs of Hallownest, they are nimble but lightly armoured. Keep the pressure on them. |
Husk Sentries are enemies in Hollow Knight. They are the reanimated corpses of Hallownest sentries, still standing guard in and around the capital.[1][2][3]
Behaviour and Tactics
Husk Sentries have three attacks:
- Slash: Takes a swipe at the Knight if they are in range.
- Triple Slash: Instead of performing a normal Slash, it may sometimes slash three times.
- Backstep: Usually done when the Knight is above them, the Sentry takes a small hop backwards.
They patrol back and forth until they spot the Knight, after which they run up to engage them. They can attack with a single slash or sometimes a series of slashes and will occasionally jump backwards to avoid attacks. Hit them just after they finish their attack, then dash out of their range when they attack. They grunt a distinctive marching rhythm when patrolling, signalling their presence in an area.

Trivia
- The Husk Sentry gains slightly more Health after the Sharpened Nail has been obtained. This is possibly to prevent the Knight from gaining too large of an advantage early in the game, as keeping the original Health would have made the Husk Sentry die in three hits rather than four.
- The Husk Sentry found at the Nailsmith's hut respawns upon leaving and re-entering the room. This characteristic is unique to this Sentry.
