Gruzzer
Simple-minded creature that haphazardly buzzes around, bumping into things. They only seem dimly aware of their surroundings, making them easy prey to cut your fangs on. What is it that guides them on their paths? It almost seems like they search for ways to die. |
Gruzzers are enemies in Hollow Knight. They are round bugs with small wings and a shrivelled proboscis. They pay little attention to their surroundings.[1]
Behaviour and Tactics
Flies around, bumping into walls and objects, changing direction on contact.
It is best to trail behind it and then attack it.

Trivia
- The Gruzzer is one of the few enemies that respawns upon leaving and re-entering the room.
- In a Kickstarter update, it was referred to as Droobling Muzznik:
- "These morose-looking flies buzz around haphazardly through the caverns, bouncing off of walls and irritating travellers."[2]
- Gruzzers are quite rare once the Forgotten Crossroads become Infected, making it harder to complete the Hunter's Journal if not enough of them have been killed before. However, two Gruzzers can still be found at the entrance of the cave that leads to the Brooding Mawlek, even after the Infection spreads.
