Gulka
 Its leaves are dry and bland. The bud is unpleasantly sour, but oh! The venom in those balls it spits. Exquisite! If you have the time to spare, try drinking some and enjoy the effects.  |
Gulkas are enemies in Hollow Knight. They are plant-like beings who spit venom-filled spikey balls at intruders.[1][2] The venom has certain enjoyable effects when it is consumed.[2]
Behaviour and Tactics
Shoots spiked balls in the Knight's direction. These balls arc very slightly with gravity.
When approached, it retracts into the wall or ceiling it has grown on, making it hard to kill. To damage it, increase the the Knight's range with a Charm such as Longnail, Mark of Pride, or Grubberfly's Elegy, use a Nail Art such as Dash Slash or a Spell such as Vengeful Spirit/Shade Soul, or reflect the spiky balls it spits back at it by striking them with the Nail.

Trivia
- If the projectile it spits runs into a wall, it bounces about harmlessly for a few seconds before splitting open and disappearing.
- The Gulka is one of the few enemies that respawns upon leaving and re-entering the room.
- The Hunter using the phrase "enjoy the effects" may imply that a Gulka's venom is a hallucinogen of some kind.
